Staple remover AWTools AW13009, metal/plastic construction, 100 g weight
AWTools AW13009 staple remover is a compact hand tool designed to extract staples from paper and a range of other materials. Made of steel with a plastic-coated handle, the tool combines a profiled steel tip and an ergonomic shape that functions as a lever to minimize the force required for removal. Weighing around 100 g, it is light enough for handheld use while providing the rigidity needed to pry and remove even deeply inserted staples.
The metal/plastic construction balances durability and user comfort: a steel body and profiled tip provide strength and precision, while the plastic-coated handle improves grip and reduces hand strain. The ergonomic lever shape amplifies pulling force so staples can be removed with less effort. The narrow, profiled tip allows accurate access beneath staple crowns to lift and extract staples from paper, wood, textiles, carpets and fibreboards.
Position the profiled tip beneath the staple crown and hinge the tool gently to lift the staple prongs clear of the material. Continue to lever the tool until the staple is raised sufficiently, then pull it out fully. For staples in thicker materials such as upholstery or wood, work gradually and reposition the tip as needed to avoid tearing the material. Maintain a firm but controlled grip on the plastic-coated handle to ensure accuracy and safety during extraction.
Use on a stable surface and remove staples slowly when working with delicate paper or fabrics to avoid damage. For heavily corroded or deeply embedded staples, combine careful levering with small incremental movements rather than forceful pulls. Keep the tool clean and dry to preserve the steel tip and maintain performance.
