Gas torch AWTools AW13810 — handheld gas blowtorch for soldering and heating
The AWTools AW13810 handheld gas torch is a compact gas blowtorch designed for localized heating, soldering, brazing and a range of small-scale DIY tasks. Constructed from steel alloy and ABS plastic, the torch includes a piezo ignition for instant flame and an adjustable flame control knob to set the required heat output. The unit is powered by butane gas from an external cylinder with an EN417 connector and features a twist-type refill valve inlet at the bottom. Engineered to operate at any angle — inverted or upright — it provides a controllable flame for metalwork, plumbing, loosening seized bolts, cooking tasks and craft applications.
The AWTools AW13810 combines a robust steel-alloy nozzle and durable ABS plastic body for daily workshop use while remaining lightweight for on-site portability. Piezo ignition delivers reliable, instant lighting without separate lighters or matches, and the adjustable flame control knob allows fine regulation of flame size and temperature. Compatibility with EN417 butane cylinders and a twist-type refill inlet ensure convenient refilling and long run times between refills. The 360° operability enables work in confined spaces and at odd angles, expanding practical use cases.
Attach a compatible EN417 butane cylinder to the inlet according to the cylinder manufacturer’s instructions and ensure the connection is secure. Open the fuel supply slightly, set the flame control knob to a low position, and activate the piezo ignition to produce a flame. Adjust the flame control knob to the desired intensity for soldering, heating or cooking. When finished, turn the fuel supply off and allow the torch to cool before storing. Follow safety guidance for working with open flames and flammable gas.
Use the AWTools AW13810 in well-ventilated areas away from combustible materials. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as heat-resistant gloves and eye protection when soldering or brazing. For cooking applications, use food-safe techniques and keep the torch clean from flux or solder residues. Always check for gas leaks before ignition and store butane cylinders according to local regulations.
