Cable crimper AWTools AW16710 — depth 205 mm, weight 370 g
The AWTools AW16710 cable crimper is a compact, hand-operated tool designed for crimping cable connectors and terminals. Made of hardened carbon steel with a powder-coated finish and a total length (depth) of 205 mm, this crimper weighs 370 g and combines crimping, stripping and cutting functions in one instrument. It features an automatic self-adjusting mechanism, a double rebound spring and ergonomic TPR-coated handles to reduce user strain during installation, maintenance or repair work.
The self-adjusting mechanism allows consistent crimp quality across a range of terminal sizes without manual die changes. Hardened carbon steel construction with a powder-coated finish improves wear resistance and corrosion protection for longer service life. Ergonomic TPR-coated handles and a double rebound spring reduce hand fatigue and speed repetitive operations. An adjustable length stop and a wire tension adjustment knob enable precise positioning and repeatable crimps. The integrated stripper and cutter provide on-the-spot wire preparation without additional tools.
Place the stripped wire end into the terminal and position the terminal between the crimping jaws. Use the adjustable length stop to set the correct insertion depth and adjust the wire tension knob if necessary to suit conductor thickness. Squeeze the handles steadily until the mechanism completes the crimp and the double rebound spring opens the jaws. For stripping and cutting, position the conductor in the built-in stripper or cutter section and operate the handles with controlled motion. Inspect the finished crimp for secure mechanical and electrical contact before installation.
Use the AWTools AW16710 on appropriate terminal sizes and wire gauges specified by the terminal manufacturer. Keep cutting and stripping edges free of debris and perform periodic inspection of the crimping jaws for wear. Store the tool dry and apply light corrosion protection to metal surfaces if used in humid environments. For repetitive production work, verify crimp pull-out strength with sample tests to ensure consistent quality.
