Crow Bar AWTools AW18131 — wrecking/crow bar, weight 550 g
AWTools AW18131 is a compact crow bar designed for prying, lifting and small demolition tasks. Made of drop-forged tool steel that is hardened and tempered, this 550 g hand tool offers a balance of strength and maneuverability for construction, renovation, tyre service and DIY work. The satin finish reduces slippage, while a double T-section reinforcement increases resistance to bending and torsion. Its ergonomic form with rounded corners minimizes accidental snags and makes handling more comfortable during repeated use.
The double T-section reinforcement and heat-treated tool steel provide high durability and resistance to deformation under load. The satin finish improves grip and reduces reflective glare, helping to maintain control during levering and prying. A hooked and tapered end is integrated to facilitate tyre stretching and removal from rims; the compact size and 550 g weight make the tool easy to handle in confined spaces or when working on cars, motorcycles and bicycles.
Position the tapered or hooked end under the target object (nail head, board edge or tyre bead) and apply controlled leverage using the tool as a fulcrum. For tyre stretching and removal, engage the hook or taper around the tyre bead and pull steadily while supporting the rim to avoid damage. Use moderate, even force and reposition the tool as needed to increase access or change the leverage angle. Keep hands clear of pinch points and maintain a firm grip on the satin-finished shaft.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment such as gloves and eye protection when prying or removing tyres. Avoid using the crow bar as a striking tool against hardened surfaces to prevent chipping or premature wear. For tyre service, work on a stable surface and follow vehicle manufacturer guidance when removing or fitting tyres to rims.
