Shim/spacer/washer AWTools AW18309 pack of 150 pieces
AWTools AW18309 pack of 150 shims/spacers/washers is a collection of small copper components intended for mechanical assembly, spacing and alignment tasks. Supplied in a plastic storage box with compartments, the set includes a clear size chart label on the inside of the lid for quick identification. These copper shims provide electrical and thermal conductivity while helping distribute load, reduce vibration and limit fastener loosening in a variety of applications.
Made of high-quality copper, the washers offer good electrical and thermal conductivity and resist wear when used as spacers or load-distributing elements. The pack includes 150 pieces organized in a compartmentalized plastic box, which simplifies selection and storage. The internal size chart on the lid speeds up identification of individual shim sizes, and the metal construction allows use as a pre-load indicator, locking element or wear pad where a thin, conductive spacer is needed.
Select the appropriate shim size using the size chart on the box lid, then position the shim between mating surfaces, under a fastener head, or at the required clearance point. Ensure surfaces are clean and free of debris before placement to maintain good electrical contact where conductivity is required. Tighten fasteners to the specified torque while observing any pre-load or alignment needs; use multiple shims stacked if finer adjustment of spacing is required.
For electrical applications, confirm compatibility with the circuit and prevent galvanic corrosion by avoiding direct contact between incompatible metals. Store the shims dry in the supplied compartment box to maintain organization and prevent surface contamination. When used in safety-critical assemblies, verify fit and torque settings after initial operation and during routine maintenance.
