Threading tool AWTools AW20210 — compact manual tap wrench, weight 40 g
AWTools AW20210 is a compact manual tap wrench designed to hold and turn taps for cutting internal threads. The tool weighs 40 g, providing lightweight handling for small threading tasks, repairs and precise manual tapping operations. Constructed from HSS M2 high speed steel with a hardness of 65° HRC (±1°), the product is supplied in a plastic case and conforms to DIN 223 dimensions for consistent fit with compatible taps.
The AWTools AW20210 combines a lightweight design with durable HSS M2 construction, ensuring wear resistance and edge retention during tapping operations. Its compact size makes it easy to position in tight spaces and to control manually for accurate thread starts. Supplied in a plastic case, the tool is convenient to store and transport while remaining ready for workshop, maintenance or DIY use.
Select a tap that matches the required metric thread size and secure it in the wrench according to the tool's clamping method. Center the tap in the pre-drilled hole, start the tap slowly to ensure correct alignment, and apply steady clockwise rotation to cut the right-hand thread. Use light, consistent pressure and back the tap out periodically to clear chips. After cutting in one pass, remove the tap and clean the threaded hole and the tool. Store the tap wrench in its plastic case to protect the cutting surfaces.
For best results when cutting internal metric threads, use appropriate cutting fluid for the work material, ensure the hole diameter matches the tap's recommended drill size, and keep the tool aligned to prevent cross-threading. Regularly inspect the HSS surfaces for wear and clean chips from the tool after use.
