Pliers AWTools AW22102 — general-purpose hand pliers, weight 400 g
The AWTools AW22102 plier is a general-purpose hand plier weighing approximately 400 g, engineered for gripping, bending and cutting tasks in household and workshop environments. Forged from chromium-vanadium (CrV) steel and heat-treated for strength and wear resistance, it combines a compact form with features designed for routine mechanical, maintenance and assembly work. The curved jaw profile and high-leverage geometry deliver efficient cutting performance, and the tool includes an insulation-stripping function that supports cable and wire preparation during installation tasks.
Constructed from hardened CrV steel, the plier offers durability and long service life for everyday use. The curved jaws and high-leverage design reduce effort when cutting, while the non-slip thermoplastic rubber (TPR) handles improve grip and control. The tool is designed to cut single- and multi-core cables made of copper or aluminium and also provides a built-in stripping feature to simplify wire preparation without switching tools.
Position the plier jaws around the object to be gripped, bent or cut and apply steady pressure on the handles to perform the required operation. For cutting, place the conductor between the curved cutting edges and squeeze the handles using both hands if necessary to complete the cut cleanly. To strip insulation, align the conductor in the dedicated stripping notch, close the jaws lightly to score the insulation and pull the insulation away from the conductor. Observe safe handling practices and keep fingers clear of the cutting edges when operating the tool.
Use the plier on copper and aluminium conductors only; avoid cutting steel wire or hardened materials that can damage the cutting edges. Keep the tool clean and lightly lubricated at the pivot to maintain smooth operation and check the handles and cutting edges regularly for wear. Store in a dry place to prevent corrosion of metal parts.
