Bench Vice AWTools AW24207, cast steel, 5.5 kg weight
AWTools AW24207 bench vice is a bench-mounted clamping tool designed for holding workpieces securely during metalworking, repair and DIY tasks. The body is made from high-quality grey cast iron with a powder-coated finish for corrosion resistance. This model weighs 5.5 kg and features a 360° swivel base, replaceable hardened serrated jaws and an integrated anvil, providing a stable, hands-free solution for shaping, filing, drilling and assembly operations.
The cast-iron construction offers rigidity and durability for repeated workshop use, while the powder-coated surface helps protect against wear and rust. The swivel base rotates 360° and can be fixed at any position to improve access to the workpiece. Replaceable, hardened and serrated jaws ensure maximum clamping force and a non-slip grip. A chrome-plated handle and lead screw provide smooth operation and reduced maintenance. The integrated anvil adds versatility for light hammering and shaping tasks.
Securely fasten the vice to a stable workbench using appropriate bolts through the mounting holes. Rotate the swivel base to the desired orientation and lock it in place. Open the jaws using the chrome-plated handle, insert the workpiece between the jaws and tighten until the workpiece is held firmly without deformation. Use the integrated anvil for light hammering or shaping operations on suitable materials. Replace worn jaws as needed to maintain clamping performance.
For safe and long-lasting operation, periodically clean metal shavings and debris from the lead screw and jaw area, lubricate the screw and moving parts with light machine oil, and inspect jaws for wear. Use appropriate eye protection and follow standard workshop safety practices when cutting, drilling or hammering. Do not exceed the vice's intended clamping capacity and avoid striking the vice with excessive force.
