Ruler AWTools AW29833 — metal measuring ruler, weight 540 g
AWTools AW29833 is a metal measuring ruler made of high-quality hardened steel with a black abrasion- and dirt-resistant coating. This robust ruler, weighing 540 g, provides a double-sided metric (mm) scale and can be used as a straight edge, for layout work and for marking and measuring right angles. The design includes the ability to set the ruler at 90° and 45° angles and a hang hole for convenient storage in workshops or on site.
The hardened steel construction and protective black coating increase durability and resist wear in demanding environments. A double-sided mm scale allows faster, more flexible measuring from either edge. Built-in angle settings for 90° and 45° provide accurate right-angle marking without extra tools, while the hang hole offers space-saving storage. At 540 g the ruler is stable enough to serve as a straight edge for marking and cutting guidance.
Place the ruler on the workpiece with the desired scale side facing up and align it to the measurement marks. Use the straight edge for scribing or guiding a cutting tool. For right-angle marking, align one side with the reference edge and use the 90° or 45° setting to transfer the angle. The double-sided mm scale lets you measure from either edge without repositioning. After use, hang the ruler by the storage hole to keep it accessible and protected.
To maintain measurement accuracy and prolong the life of the black coating, clean the ruler after use to remove abrasive dust and debris, and store it in a dry place. When measuring or marking on delicate surfaces, use a soft support underneath to avoid surface marring.
