The AWTools AW30017 spirit level is a long aluminium rectangular-profile level designed for straightness and alignment checks in construction, carpentry and finishing works. Place the AWTools AW30017 level along the surface you need to check with the long edge aligned to the measurement line. For horizontal checks, set the profile flat on the surface and read the bubble position in the horizontal vial; for vertical checks, stand the level on its side and use the vertical vial. Use the magnifying vials to verify precise bubble centring and adjust the element being measured until the bubble is centred. Where long-distance straightness is required, move the level along the run and compare readings at multiple points to confirm uniform alignment.
Store the aluminium level in a protective case or hang it by its designated points to avoid impacts that could misalign the vials. Clean contact surfaces and vials before measurement to ensure accurate readings. For best results, verify accuracy periodically against a calibrated reference and avoid exposing the level to extreme temperatures or strong chemicals that may affect the anodised finish.
