Hammer AWTools AW31760 — paving/masons hammer, wooden handle, 1.5 kg
Hammer AWTools AW31760 — paving/masons hammer, wooden handle, 1.5 kg
AWTools AW31760 — a 1.5 kg paving/mason's hammer with a wooden handle designed for breaking, trimming and setting paving stones and masonry. The head combines a square alloy steel striking face with a round insert cup made from abrasion‑resistant vulcanised rubber, allowing controlled strikes while minimising surface damage. The robust wooden handle provides a firm grip and helps absorb shock during repeated use. Made in Poland and intended for tasks that require accurate placement and gentle tamping of concrete blocks, slabs, tiles and kerbs.
The dual‑face head pairs a hard alloy steel square face for cutting and trimming with a rubber insert cup for setting and tamping without chipping. At 1.5 kg the head weight is balanced for control and effective impact energy while the wooden handle reduces vibration transfer to the user. The construction provides a combination of durability and surface protection suitable for masonry and paving tasks.
Position the paving or masonry piece and, where trimming is required, strike with the square alloy steel face to break or shape the material. Use the round rubber insert cup to set and tamp blocks or slabs into position, applying controlled blows to avoid damaging the surface. Maintain a firm two‑handed grip on the wooden handle and adopt a stable stance to control the hammer’s 1.5 kg head. Inspect the tool before use to ensure the head is secure and the handle is free from cracks.
For best results, wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and gloves. Use the steel face for cutting and heavy impacts and switch to the rubber cup for final adjustments and tamping. Store the hammer in a dry place to preserve the wooden handle and check periodically for wear on the rubber insert.
