AWTOOLS AW32916 masonry chisels are hand tools designed for controlled cutting, shaping and removing material in masonry and general woodworking tasks. The chisel features a forged blade made of high-quality chromium-vanadium (CrV) steel with hardened and ground beveled side edges for consistent edge retention. The ergonomic plastic handle is covered with anti-slip TPR to provide a secure grip, and the handle end is reinforced with a durable steel cap for striking and driving the chisel blade. The chisel weighs approximately 250 g, offering balanced handling for both light demolition and precision work.
The forged CrV steel construction and heat-treated, ground bevels ensure improved wear resistance and prolonged cutting performance. The ergonomic handle with TPR coating reduces hand fatigue and improves grip during extended use. The steel striking cap protects the handle when using a hammer or mallet, allowing controlled force transfer to the blade. The moderate weight provides stability while maintaining maneuverability for detailed shaping or removal of material.
Hold the chisel by the ergonomic handle with a firm grip and position the blade bevel against the work surface at the appropriate angle for cutting or removing material. For masonry tasks, strike the steel cap with a suitable hammer or mason's mallet to drive the blade into mortar or stone. For woodworking, use controlled taps or mallet strikes to pare or shape wood. Always work from the outside of the area toward the center when removing material, and take several light strikes rather than one heavy blow to reduce the risk of blade damage or uncontrolled breakage.
Inspect the blade before use and keep the cutting edge sharp and free of nicks. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and gloves. Use the chisel within its intended applications—avoid prying or levering heavy objects. After use, clean the blade, protect it from corrosion, and store in a dry place to maintain performance and safety.
