Core Drill Bit for Concrete AWTools Korona 80 x 100 mm SDS+ (AW40518)
AWTools Korona core drill bit for concrete, size 80 x 100 mm with SDS+ shank is designed to create large, clean boreholes in concrete and reinforced concrete. The cylindrical body and durable cutting edge provide stable cutting performance when used with SDS+ rotary hammer drills. Intended for installation tasks that require accurate circular openings, this core bit produces consistent hole edges and efficient material removal for plumbing, electrical and HVAC penetrations.
The design combines a hardened cutting rim with a robust cylindrical body to deliver long tool life and improved hole quality. Compatibility with SDS+ chucks allows quick installation and secure retention in hammer drills. The geometry of the cutting edge reduces vibration and helps maintain alignment during drilling, while the hollow core enables faster extraction of the concrete plug.
Fit the AWTools Korona core drill bit into the SDS+ chuck of a compatible rotary hammer according to the drill manufacturer's instructions. Mark the hole position and, if possible, start drilling at low speed to establish the center, then apply steady pressure using the hammer function appropriate for concrete. Use periodic withdrawal of the core bit to clear debris and, for deep or extended work, cool the bit by clearing dust or using water if the drill and the application permit wet drilling. After reaching the required depth, stop the tool and remove the core plug by pulling out the hollow segment or tapping it out as needed.
Use personal protective equipment including eye protection, hearing protection and dust mask or extraction when dry drilling. Match drill speed and hammer settings to the base material and avoid excessive lateral force to prolong tool life. For reinforced concrete, inspect for rebar and proceed with controlled cutting; where applicable, consider using water for dust suppression and cooling if the tool and jobsite conditions allow.
