Drill bit AWTools AW41050 — pack of 10, straight shank, metal/wood use
Drill bit AWTools AW41050 — pack of 10, straight shank, metal/wood use
AWTools AW41050 drill bit pack contains ten precision-ground HSS-G bits with straight shanks designed for standard chucks. Each bit features a 118° point angle and double-sided cutting geometry, providing reliable centering and consistent hole quality when used with appropriately rated drilling machines. The set is supplied in a compact case for organised storage and fast bit selection.
The bits are made of HSS-G high-speed steel and are precision ground to ensure uniform diameter and cutting edges, which contributes to consistent drilling performance and longer tool life under correct conditions. The 118° point angle improves centring and reduces walking at the start of drilling. Double-sided geometry offers even wear distribution and prolongs usable time before resharpening. Straight shanks make these bits compatible with a wide range of standard chucks and drill presses.
Select a drill speed appropriate for the material and diameter, secure the workpiece, and clamp the straight shank into a properly tightened standard chuck. For metals, use cutting fluid or lubricant to reduce heat and improve chip evacuation; for plastics, lower speeds and gentle feed prevent melting. Start drilling with light pressure to ensure the 118° point locates accurately, then increase feed to produce clean holes. Withdraw periodically to clear chips on deeper holes and resharpen or replace bits when wear affects hole quality.
Use appropriate drill speeds and cutting fluids for metallic materials, maintain correct clamping of the workpiece, and store the bits in their case to prevent damage. Inspect bits before use and replace or regrind when cutting edges show rounding or chipping to maintain hole accuracy and safety.
