Drill bit set AWTools AW41930, pack of 5
AWTools AW41930 drill bit set, pack of 5 provides a set of five precision ground high-speed steel bits designed for general-purpose drilling tasks. Each bit is made from HSS-G M2 high-speed steel with a black oxide finish and two cutting edges, featuring a centering point with a 135° point angle. The set is supplied in a case and is suitable for use in wood, plastic and a range of metals including alloyed and unalloyed steel and grey cast iron, depending on material thickness and application.
The drill bits are manufactured from HSS-G M2 high-speed steel and precision ground to ensure consistent cutting performance and dimensional accuracy. A black oxide surface treatment improves wear resistance and provides some corrosion protection while reducing friction during drilling. The two cutting edges and 135° centering point deliver stable entry and reduced walking on the workpiece, and the material combination lowers the risk of breakage under normal operating conditions. Supplied in a compact case, the pack of 5 keeps bits organized and ready for transport.
Select a drill bit from the set appropriate for the hole diameter required and install it securely in a compatible drill chuck. Use recommended drilling speeds and feeds for the material being drilled; lower speeds are generally appropriate for harder metals and higher speeds for plastics and wood. Apply steady axial pressure, allow the tool to cut without forcing, and withdraw occasionally to clear chips when drilling deeper holes. For metalworking, use suitable cutting fluid or coolant to reduce heat and extend bit life. After use, return bits to the case to protect the cutting edges.
For optimal results when drilling metals, use a light cutting lubricant and moderate speed to balance cutting performance and tool life. When drilling plastics, use higher spindle speeds and minimal pressure to avoid melting; for wood, select speeds and feed rates that match the wood density. Inspect bits regularly for wear and replace when edges become dull to maintain hole quality and reduce risk of bit breakage.
