Drill bit AWTools AW42811, weight 57 g
AWTools AW42811 drill bit is a single lightweight replacement bit intended for rotary drilling in masonry and stone materials. Constructed from 40Cr alloy steel with a carbide tip and two cutting edges, this 57 g bit combines durability with precise cutting. The double spiral flute accelerates debris removal to reduce friction and overheating, while the grooved SDS+ shank secures the bit in hammer drills and rotary hammers for reliable operation.
The combination of 40Cr alloy steel body and a carbide tip provides wear resistance at the cutting edge and good overall toughness. Two cutting edges deliver consistent hole geometry and efficient material removal. The double spiral flute design improves dust and chip evacuation, lowering heat buildup during continuous work. The grooved SDS+ shank prevents the bit from slipping or falling out, ensuring stable power transfer in both handheld and bench-mounted drilling equipment.
Install the AWTools AW42811 drill bit into the SDS+ chuck of a compatible hammer drill or rotary hammer until it locks in place. Select the appropriate rotation speed and hammer setting for the material being drilled: lower speeds for hard natural stone and granite, medium to high speeds for concrete and brick, and careful, controlled operation for ceramic tiles. Apply steady axial pressure without forcing the bit; allow the tool and carbide tip to cut progressively. Withdraw periodically to clear debris if drilling deep holes.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection and dust mask. Use water cooling or intermittent drilling when working for prolonged periods in tile or stone to reduce heat. Inspect the bit for wear or damage before use and replace if the carbide tip is chipped or cutting performance declines.
