Drill bit AWTools AW42819 – metal/wood drilling bit, model AW42819
AWTools AW42819 is a multifunctional drill bit designed for use with handheld and stationary drills. Manufactured with a 40CR alloy steel body and a YG8C tungsten carbide head, this model is intended for a range of drilling tasks including hole-making, repair and assembly work in both DIY and professional settings. The bit combines a 2-cutter spiral geometry with an SDS+ grooved shank to support efficient material removal and secure attachment in compatible drill chucks.
The 2-cutter spiral design ensures consistent removal of spoil, which helps reduce overheating and vibrations during operation. A YG8C tungsten carbide head provides improved wear resistance and cutting performance on harder surfaces. The 40CR alloy steel construction offers durability for repeated use, while the grooved SDS+ shank prevents the drill bit from falling out when used with compatible hammer drills and rotary impact hammer drills.
Insert the AWTools AW42819 drill bit into a compatible SDS+ chuck or adapter according to the drill manufacturer's instructions and ensure it is securely seated. Select an appropriate drill speed and, when working with masonry or stone, use the hammer or rotary impact mode if available. Apply steady, moderate pressure and allow the bit to remove material naturally; avoid excessive force that could cause overheating. Periodically withdraw the bit to clear accumulated debris and, if drilling metal or wood, use proper cutting fluid or lower speeds as recommended for the workpiece.
Use personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and hearing protection. Match drill speed and mode to the material: use hammer mode for masonry and rotary mode for metal and wood. Keep the bit cool by pausing for debris removal and, where appropriate, using coolant or lubricant when drilling metal.
