Drill bit AWTools AW42825 — metal/wood drilling bit, model AW42825
AWTools AW42825 — a versatile drill bit designed for use with electric drills and hammer drills. Constructed from 40CR alloy steel with a carbide tip and two cutting edges, this model is intended for drilling in masonry, concrete, granite, natural stone, brick and ceramic tiles. The double spiral flute provides efficient removal of debris and helps reduce overheating, while the grooved SDS+ shank secures the bit in compatible chucks to prevent falling out during heavy-duty work.
The combination of 40CR alloy steel body and a carbide tip delivers a balance of toughness and cutting durability suitable for hard materials. Two-cutting-edge geometry improves drilling accuracy and reduces wandering on the surface. Double spiral flutes ensure faster evacuation of dust and chips, which helps maintain cutting efficiency and reduces heat buildup. The grooved SDS+ shank offers secure retention in hammer drills and rotary hammers, enabling reliable impact drilling in masonry and stone.
Fit the AWTools AW42825 into a compatible SDS+ chuck according to the drill manufacturer's instructions and ensure it is locked in place. Select appropriate drill speed and hammer function for the material — use hammer mode for concrete, brick and stone; use rotary-only mode when drilling ceramic tiles to avoid cracking. Apply steady pressure without forcing the bit; allow the carbide tip to cut and the double spiral flutes to evacuate debris. Periodically withdraw the bit to clear accumulated dust and prevent overheating.
Use personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, dust mask and hearing protection when drilling. For prolonged or heavy-duty drilling, allow cooling pauses and remove debris frequently. Match drill speed and hammer settings to the material: lower speeds and controlled hammer action for dense stone and tile, higher speeds and continuous hammering for softer masonry.
