Drill bit AWTools AW42833 – model AW42833, MPN AW42833
AWTools AW42833 drill bit is a replacement accessory intended for drilling in masonry, concrete, granite, natural stone, brick and ceramic tiles. Constructed from 40CR alloy steel with a carbide tip and two cutting edges, the bit is designed to deliver effective penetration and maintain cutting performance during repeated use. The double spiral flute promotes efficient material removal and helps reduce heat buildup, while the grooved SDS+ shank provides a secure fit in compatible hammer drills and rotary hammers.
The combination of a 40CR alloy steel body and a carbide tip ensures a balance of toughness and wear resistance suitable for drilling hard substrates. Two cutting edges provide consistent cutting action and reduced chipping on brittle surfaces. The double spiral flute improves dust and debris extraction from the hole, which contributes to lower friction and less heat generation. The SDS+ grooved shank secures the bit in place during hammering action, reducing the risk of slippage and simplifying bit changes.
Select a drill with an SDS+ chuck compatible with the AWTools AW42833 shank. Mark the drilling position and, when drilling into ceramic tiles, start at low speed or use a pilot point to avoid slipping. Engage the hammer function when penetrating concrete or masonry as required; for delicate materials reduce or disable hammering to avoid cracking. Apply steady axial pressure and allow the double spiral flutes to evacuate debris; retract occasionally to clear dust and prevent overheating. Replace the bit when the carbide tip shows excessive wear or the cutting performance declines.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection and dust mask. When drilling deep or large-diameter holes, operate at moderate speed and retract periodically to clear debris. For tile work, consider using tape over the drilling point or a guide to prevent wandering. Store the drill bit in a dry place to avoid corrosion and inspect the carbide tip before each use.
