Drill bit AWTools AW43524 – model AW43524, standard twist drill for metal and wood
AWTools AW43524 is a standard twist drill bit designed for a wide range of drilling tasks in construction and workshop environments. Manufactured with a 40CR alloy steel body and a YG8C carbide-tipped blade, this drill bit features a centering point with a 130° point angle that facilitates accurate starts and consistent hole geometry. The double spiral flute design enhances chip evacuation, reduces overheating and vibration, and the four cutting edges provide smoother holes and lower risk of jamming when encountering rebar. The grooved SDS+ shank secures the bit in the tool to prevent accidental fall-out. This model is intended for use in concrete, reinforced concrete, rebar, brick and other hard materials and is compatible with hammer drills and rotary hammers.
The combination of 40CR alloy steel and a YG8C carbide tip delivers wear resistance and extended cutting life compared with standard high-speed steel bits. The 130° centering point improves centering accuracy and reduces walking on the workpiece. Double spiral flutes speed up material removal while lowering operating temperature, and the four cutting edges ensure cleaner, more precise holes. The SDS+ grooved shank provides secure retention in hammer-drill chucks and facilitates quick bit changes.
Mount the AWTools AW43524 securely in the SDS+ chuck according to the drill manufacturer's instructions. Select an appropriate drilling mode and speed for the material: use hammer action and moderate speed for concrete and reinforced concrete, and rotary mode or lower impact for masonry where required. Start drilling using steady pressure, allowing the carbide tip and flutes to remove material; avoid excessive force that can increase wear. Periodically withdraw the bit to clear accumulated dust and chips, and allow the bit to cool if working on prolonged or large-diameter holes.
For best performance and longer tool life, use the AW43524 at recommended speeds and with hammer-drill settings appropriate to the material. Wear appropriate eye, ear and dust protection when drilling masonry or concrete. Replace the bit if the carbide tip shows significant wear, chipping or loss of cutting performance.
