Drill bit AWTools AW43528 – model AW43528, general-purpose twist drill bit
AWTools AW43528 is a general-purpose twist drill bit designed for standard drilling tasks in construction, repair and DIY. Constructed from 40CR alloy steel with a YG8C carbide-tipped blade and a centering point with a 130° point angle, this drill bit is intended for use with handheld drills, hammer drills and rotary hammers to create round holes in concrete, reinforced concrete, rebar, brick and other hard materials.
The double spiral flute geometry ensures efficient removal of debris, lowers the risk of overheating and reduces vibration during operation. Four cutting edges provide smooth hole finishes and decrease the chance of jamming when encountering rebar. A grooved SDS+ shank secures the bit in the chuck to prevent accidental release, while the carbide tip enhances wear resistance and extends service life under heavy-duty conditions.
Select a drill or rotary hammer compatible with SDS+ shanks and secure the AWTools AW43528 into the chuck until it locks. Mark the drilling position and, where possible, use the centering point to start the hole accurately. For best performance in concrete and reinforced concrete, use the hammer function; for softer masonry, use rotary mode. Apply steady pressure without forcing the bit, allow the double spiral flutes to evacuate dust and debris, and periodically withdraw the bit to clear chips. Maintain appropriate rotational speed and hammering intensity recommended by the tool manufacturer.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment (eye protection, gloves, dust mask) and ensure the work area is stable. For drilling through reinforced elements, proceed slowly and avoid excessive side loads. Replace the bit when the carbide tip shows significant wear or the bit produces wandering or enlarged holes.
