Drill bit AWTools AW43533 — AWTools AW43533, general-purpose twist drill bit
AWTools AW43533 — general-purpose twist drill bit designed for drilling in hard building materials. Constructed from 40CR alloy steel with a YG8C carbide-tipped blade, this bit combines a hardened body with a wear-resistant cutting tip to maintain sharpness and extend service life. The bit features a centering point with a 130° point angle, a double-spiral flute geometry for efficient dust and debris evacuation, and four cutting edges to produce smooth holes and reduce the likelihood of jamming when encountering reinforcement. The grooved SDS+ shank provides secure retention in compatible hammer drills and rotary hammers.
The carbide-tipped blade improves cutting performance and wear resistance compared with all-steel bits, while the 130° centering point facilitates accurate starts and reduces walking on the work surface. Double spiral flutes promote effective removal of drilled material, lower operating temperature and reduce vibration during use. Four cutting edges contribute to cleaner hole finishes and better penetration in reinforced concrete and brick. The SDS+ grooved shank ensures stable retention in hammer drill chucks and reduces the risk of the bit slipping during hammering operations.
Install the AWTools AW43533 drill bit into the SDS+ chuck of a compatible hammer drill or rotary hammer until it locks securely. Select an appropriate speed and hammer setting for the material being drilled. Begin drilling with light pressure to allow the centering point to establish the hole, then apply steady pressure while maintaining correct tool alignment. Periodically withdraw the bit to clear accumulated dust and debris and to allow cooling. For deeper holes, withdraw frequently to prevent packing of material in the flutes. Use standard safety equipment including eye protection, gloves and hearing protection.
For best results when drilling reinforced concrete and brick, use the hammer function of the rotary hammer and moderate feed force. Avoid excessive lateral force to prevent chipping of the carbide tip. Replace the bit when wear noticeably reduces drilling speed or hole quality. Keep the flutes clear of packed material to maintain efficient cutting and to prolong bit life.
