Drill bit AWTools AW43537 — metal/wood drilling bit, standard shank
AWTools AW43537 is a multi-purpose drill bit designed for use with handheld and stationary drills. Constructed from 40CR alloy steel with a YG8C carbide tipped blade, the bit combines toughness with a wear-resistant cutting edge. It has a centring point with a 130° point angle and a double spiral flute to evacuate material efficiently, reduce vibration and prevent overheating during drilling operations.
The carbide tipped blade and four cutting edges produce smooth, precise holes while lowering the chance of jamming when encountering reinforcement. The double spiral design assists chip removal and cooling, helping to maintain cutting performance. Its grooved SDS+ shank secures the bit in compatible chucks to prevent accidental falling out. The combination of materials and geometry makes the bit suitable for repeated use in demanding conditions.
Select a drill or rotary hammer that accepts SDS+ shanks and set the appropriate rotation and hammering mode for the material being drilled. Mark the drilling point, position the centring point of the bit, and start drilling at low speed to establish the hole. Apply steady axial pressure and allow the double spiral flutes to evacuate debris; increase speed as appropriate for the material. Cool and clear the hole periodically during prolonged drilling to avoid overheating and preserve the carbide tip.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection and gloves. For best results in reinforced concrete or when encountering rebar, reduce feed pressure and keep the bit rotating to minimise the risk of chipping. Replace the bit when signs of wear or significant loss of cutting performance appear to maintain hole quality and operator safety.
