Drill bit AWTools AW43556 — model AW43556, general-purpose metal/wood drilling
AWTools AW43556 is a general-purpose drill bit designed for professional and DIY drilling tasks in hard materials. Constructed from 40CR alloy steel with a YG8C carbide-tipped blade, this bit combines toughness and wear resistance for extended life. The centering point with a 130° point angle, double spiral flute and four cutting edges deliver smooth, accurate holes while reducing the chance of jamming. The grooved SDS+ shank provides secure retention in compatible hammer drills and rotary hammers.
The carbide-tipped cutting head improves cutting performance and prolongs service life when drilling concrete, reinforced concrete, rebar and brick. The double spiral flute design effectively evacuates debris and reduces heat build-up and vibration during operation. Four cutting edges produce cleaner hole walls and help the bit cut through rebar more reliably. The SDS+ grooved shank ensures stable engagement and prevents the bit from falling out under hammering impact.
Select the correct drill bit diameter and insert the AWTools AW43556 into an SDS+ compatible hammer drill or rotary hammer according to the tool manufacturer's instructions. Mark the drilling position, ensure stable support and, where appropriate, start with light impact mode to create a pilot indentation if needed. Apply steady pressure without forcing the bit; allow the tool and carbide tip to cut at their intended speed. Periodically withdraw the bit to remove accumulated dust and debris and to avoid overheating. Use appropriate personal protective equipment including eye and hearing protection.
For longer tool life and optimal performance when drilling reinforced concrete or striking rebar, operate at recommended RPM and impact settings for your drill, cool the bit by clearing debris frequently, and avoid excessive lateral force. Replace the bit when the cutting edges show significant wear or chipping to maintain drilling accuracy and safety.
