Drill bit AWTools AW43558 — metal/wood drilling accessory, AW43558
AWTools AW43558 is a multi-purpose drill bit designed for use with electric drills, drill drivers, hammer drills and rotary hammers. Constructed from 40CR alloy steel with a YG8C carbide-tipped blade and featuring a centering point with a 130° point angle, this bit is intended for drilling in metal, wood and a range of hard materials including concrete, reinforced concrete, rebar and brick. The double spiral flute and four cutting edges provide efficient material removal and smooth hole finishes while the grooved SDS+ shank secures the bit during heavy-duty operations.
The combination of 40CR alloy steel body and a YG8C carbide tip increases wear resistance and extends tool life in demanding drilling conditions. The 130° centering point improves hole accuracy and reduces wandering at startup. Double spiral flutes promote reliable evacuation of chips and dust to help prevent overheating and reduce vibration. Four cutting edges produce cleaner, smoother holes and lessen the chance of jamming when encountering rebar. The grooved SDS+ shank provides secure retention in compatible chucks and prevents accidental bit release.
Insert the AWTools AW43558 into a compatible SDS+ chuck or appropriate drill holder until it locks. Select the correct drilling mode for the material — rotary hammer or hammer mode for concrete and masonry, rotary-only for metal and wood. Start drilling with moderate pressure to let the centering point locate the hole, then apply steady force while maintaining tool alignment. Periodically withdraw the bit to clear accumulated debris and allow the carbide tip to cool when performing prolonged drilling.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection and gloves. Use the correct drill speed and mode for the material, and avoid excessive side loads to preserve the carbide tip. For reinforced concrete or rebar, use controlled pressure and frequent chip removal to reduce the risk of bit binding.
