Drill bit AWTools AW43735 – metal/wood drilling, 960 g weight
The AWTools AW43735 drill bit is a multipurpose accessory for hand-held drills and rotary hammers, designed to perform drilling operations in metal and wood as well as hard and abrasive materials. Constructed from high-quality alloy steel with a tungsten carbide tip and a wide flute, this bit combines durable cutting performance with efficient material removal. Its 130° self-centering point helps start holes accurately without a separate pilot hole, while the double-spiral design improves chip evacuation and reduces heat and vibration during use.
The drill bit features a tungsten carbide cutting tip and two cutting edges for reliable penetration and extended wear resistance. A wide flute and double spiral enhance chip extraction and cooling, reducing the risk of overheating. The grooved SDS-MAX-type shank secures the bit in the tool and prevents unintentional release, making it suitable for use in hammer drilling modes. The 130° self-centering point provides accurate positioning and simplifies work by eliminating the need for pilot holes in many applications.
Select the AWTools AW43735 drill bit and ensure the shank matches the drill or rotary hammer chuck. Secure the bit in the tool according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it is locked in place. Start drilling at low speed to position the self-centering point, then increase speed and apply steady pressure appropriate to the material. Use hammer mode when drilling into masonry, concrete or natural stone and rotary mode for wood and metal where impact is not required. Maintain a steady feed, withdraw periodically if drilling deep holes to clear chips, and allow the bit to cool when performing prolonged work.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety goggles, gloves and hearing protection. For metal drilling, consider applying cutting fluid to reduce friction and extend tool life. When working with masonry or concrete, use the hammer function on compatible tools and avoid excessive side load to prevent bit damage. Inspect the bit before use and replace it if the carbide tip is chipped or worn.
