Drill bit AWTools SDS Max 32 x 400 x 540 mm square shank
Drill bit AWTools SDS Max 32 x 400 x 540 mm square shank
AWTools SDS Max 32 x 400 x 540 mm drill bit is designed for use with SDS Max rotary hammers to create clean, deep holes in masonry and concrete. The bit features a 32 mm cutting diameter, a 400 mm working length and a 540 mm overall length with a square shank for secure mounting and improved torque transfer. Constructed for professional and heavy-duty drilling tasks, this drill bit provides extended reach for installations, anchor setting and structural drilling where standard-length bits are insufficient.
The SDS Max design ensures fast and reliable hammering action with easy insertion and removal in compatible chucks. The square shank provides a stable connection to rotary hammers, reducing slippage under high load. A long working length of 400 mm enables drilling through thick walls and deeper anchoring holes without changing to extension rods, while the 540 mm overall length offers extra clearance for varied jobsite conditions. The bit is optimized for masonry and concrete, balancing cutting performance and durability for repeated professional use.
Insert the square shank into the SDS Max chuck until it locks according to the rotary hammer manufacturer's instructions. Secure the workpiece area, mark the drilling position and use steady pressure with the hammer function engaged. Start at low speed to position the bit, then apply consistent forward pressure and allow the tool's hammering action to do the cutting. Withdraw the bit periodically to clear dust and debris from deep holes and to reduce heat build-up. When finished, retract the bit and remove it from the chuck following the tool's recommended procedure.
For best results, use appropriate personal protective equipment, secure loose materials, and select a rotary hammer with SDS Max compatibility and sufficient impact energy for 32 mm drilling. Use dust extraction or a vacuum adapter when drilling indoors to reduce airborne silica dust. Replace the drill bit if cutting performance decreases significantly or visible wear appears on the carbide tip or flute.
