Hole saw AWTools AW49546 — lightweight 100 g cutting tool for drilling
AWTools AW49546 — lightweight 100 g hole saw designed for drilling circular openings in a range of materials. The body is made of alloy steel with a powder-coated finish and the cutting teeth are manufactured from HSS M3 bi-metal steel and laser welded to the body. Its compact size and low weight make it convenient to attach to a compatible drill chuck or arbor for portable and precise on-site cutting tasks.
The combination of an alloy steel body and HSS M3 bi-metal cutting teeth provides a balance of durability and cutting performance. Laser-welded teeth improve joint strength and reduce the risk of tooth loss under load. Progressive tooth pitch promotes fast, precise cutting and efficient chip evacuation, reducing heat build-up and extending tool life. The powder-coated finish protects the body from corrosion and wear during typical installation work.
Fit the hole saw to a compatible drill chuck or arbor according to the drill and arbor manufacturer’s instructions. Secure the workpiece and mark the center of the hole. Start drilling at low speed to establish the cut, then increase speed as appropriate for the material being cut while maintaining steady feed pressure. Ensure adequate cooling or periodic withdrawal to clear chips when cutting metals. For brittle materials such as acrylic or plasterboard, use a lower speed and minimal axial force to reduce risk of cracking.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety goggles, gloves and hearing protection. Clamp or secure the workpiece to prevent movement. For metal cutting, consider using cutting fluid to reduce heat and extend blade life. Avoid excessive side loads and do not use the hole saw with damaged or worn teeth. Inspect the drill and arbor connection for tightness before each use.
