Hole Saw AWTools AW49557 57 mm Bimetal
AWTools Hole Saw AW49557 57 mm Bimetal is a bimetal cutting tool designed to create clean circular holes with a 57 mm diameter. Constructed from high-speed steel teeth welded to a flexible alloy body, this hole saw combines cutting hardness with improved toughness and heat resistance for extended life. It is intended for use with compatible drills and arbors to cut through wood, plastic and thin metal sheets for installation and construction tasks.
The bimetal construction provides a balance of durability and flexibility, resisting tooth breakage and wear during prolonged use. Heat-resistant properties help maintain cutting performance under higher RPMs and during extended operations. The 57 mm diameter offers a common size for plumbing, electrical and finishing openings, while the saw’s thin kerf reduces material waste and the load on the drill motor.
Select a compatible arbor and secure the hole saw to the drill according to the arbor manufacturer’s instructions. Mark the centre point of the hole on the workpiece and pilot-drill if required. Position the pilot bit (if present) and start drilling at low speed to establish the cut, then increase speed as appropriate for the material. Apply steady, moderate pressure and allow the saw to cut without forcing; clear chips periodically to avoid overheating. After cutting, remove the workpiece and deburr the hole edges if necessary.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment, including eye protection and gloves. For metal cutting, use cutting lubricant to extend tool life and reduce heat. Match drill speed and feed to the material: lower speeds for metal, higher speeds for wood and plastic. Inspect the saw before use for damage and replace if teeth are worn or broken.
