Hole saw AWTools AW49595 — AWTools circular drill cutting bit, 345 g
AWTools AW49595 hole saw is a compact circular cutting bit designed for creating clean through-holes in a wide range of materials during construction, installation and DIY tasks. With a lightweight body weighing 345 g and a robust alloy steel construction with powder-coated finish, this hole saw is intended for use with standard electric drills and impact drills to perform accurate and efficient hole cutting for ventilation ducts, plumbing and sanitary pipes, electrical junction and socket boxes, lock sets and LED fixtures.
The body is made of alloy steel with a powder-coated finish for durability and corrosion resistance, while the cutting teeth are manufactured from HSS M3 bi-metal steel and laser-welded to the body for reliable joint strength. The progressive tooth pitch ensures faster and more precise drilling and effective chip evacuation, reducing heat build-up and improving cutting performance. Compact size and low weight make the AWTools AW49595 convenient for handheld operation and portable use on job sites.
Securely attach the hole saw to a compatible mandrel or arbor following the drill manufacturer’s instructions, then mount the assembly in a standard electric or impact drill. Mark the center of the intended hole, start drilling at low speed to establish the pilot, then increase speed while applying steady, even pressure. Use intermittent operation to avoid overheating and clear chips from the cut regularly. After completing the cut, retract the hole saw and remove remaining material fragments from the cavity.
Prioritize safety by wearing appropriate eye and hand protection and by securing the workpiece before drilling. For metal applications use cutting lubricant to extend tooth life and improve chip evacuation; for wood and plastic, moderate speed and controlled feed reduce splintering. Inspect the laser-welded joint and teeth periodically and replace the hole saw if damage or excessive wear is detected.
