Manual sanding supply pack AWTools AW57453 — 5 pieces, total weight 56 g
AWTools AW57453 — a manual sanding supply pack containing five sanding discs with a total weight of 56 g, designed for hand sanding and light machine-assisted sanding. Each disc uses aluminum oxide (corundum) abrasive permanently bonded to a fabric backing to provide consistent cutting performance and wear resistance. Discs attach with Velcro for fast replacement and are compatible with 125 mm backing pads and 125 mm bench-top disc sanders. An 8-hole pattern supports efficient dust extraction during use.
The aluminum oxide abrasive offers a balance of cutting efficiency and longevity suitable for a variety of materials. Permanent bonding to the fabric backing improves durability and reduces delamination risk under normal hand-sanding and low-speed machine use. Velcro fastening enables quick disc changes without tools, saving time during repetitive tasks. The 8-hole layout is designed to align with common dust extraction systems for cleaner work and improved visibility of the workpiece.
Select a compatible 125 mm backing pad or bench-top disc sander and attach the disc using the Velcro surface to ensure a flat, secure fit. For hand sanding, hold the backing pad or sander firmly and apply even pressure while moving across the surface in the direction appropriate to the material and grain. Use light to moderate pressure to avoid rapid abrasive wear or damage to the substrate. When dust extraction is available, align the disc’s 8-hole pattern with the tool’s ports to remove dust efficiently and maintain visibility.
Start with a coarser grit when removing material or old coatings, then progress to finer discs for smoothing and finishing. Replace discs when abrasive performance declines or when the backing shows signs of wear. Use appropriate personal protective equipment, including dust mask and eye protection, and connect to dust extraction when working with fine particles.
