Concrete float AWTools AWBL25161 — hand float for smoothing concrete surfaces
AWTools AWBL25161 is a hand concrete float designed for smoothing and finishing fresh concrete and similar plastering materials. Constructed from an aluminium alloy with increased hardness and an H-shaped profile, this 100 cm float provides a durable operating edge and consistent surface contact for leveling minor imperfections and consolidating surface paste prior to final finishing. The tool includes a built-in thumb groove for improved grip and handling, trapezoidal finishing edge to remove unevenness, and double-sided plastic shock-absorbing end plugs that protect both the profile and surrounding surfaces during use.
The aluminium alloy construction combines light weight with durability, reducing operator fatigue while maintaining resistance to deformation. The H-shaped profile ensures rigidity and even pressure distribution across the working surface. The integrated thumb groove improves control during manual operation, and the trapezoidal finish is shaped specifically to address surface irregularities. Plastic shock-absorbing end plugs protect the profile ends from impact and prevent damage to adjacent work areas.
Position the AWTools AWBL25161 on the freshly placed concrete or applied plaster and apply even pressure while moving the float across the surface. Use long, overlapping strokes to consolidate the surface paste and level minor hollows or ridges. The built-in thumb groove allows secure hand placement for controlled motions; adjust grip and angle to achieve the desired degree of smoothing. After initial consolidation with the float, follow with final finishing tools as required by the material and job specification. Clean the float after use to remove residual material and prevent build-up on the profile.
For best results, use this hand float on fresh material before it begins to set; avoid excessive lateral pressure that could gouge soft surfaces. When working on larger areas, combine manual floating with appropriate mechanical finishing equipment to maintain efficiency. Store the tool in a dry place to prevent corrosion and check end plugs regularly for wear, replacing them if damaged.
