Utility knife AWTools AWBL42005, compact folding cutter, weight 78 g
AWTools AWBL42005 is a compact folding utility knife designed for general cutting tasks at home, in workshops or on the job. The cutter combines a durable ABS high-impact body with a steel blade guide and retractable snap-off blades made of SK4 steel. Its lightweight folding design and auto-lock slider make it convenient to carry, store safely and adjust blade length for precise trimming of wallpapers, carpets, paper, cardboard, rubber, fabric and packaging materials.
The folding format provides safe, compact storage and reduces the risk of accidental cuts when not in use. ABS high-impact construction ensures resistance to drops and daily wear, while the steel blade guide stabilizes the blade for straighter cuts. SK4 snap-off blades retain sharpness significantly longer than standard blades, reducing the need for frequent blade changes. An auto-lock slider secures blade position during use and allows quick adjustment to the desired cutting depth. The entire tool weighs 78 g, balancing portability with robust build quality.
Fold out the cutter and slide the auto-lock slider to extend the required number of blade segments. Ensure the blade locks securely before applying pressure. Use steady, controlled strokes to cut along the intended line; the steel guide helps maintain straight cuts. When a cutting edge becomes dull, snap off the used blade segment along the scored line while holding the blade firmly and using the cutter’s designated snapping method or a blade snapper. Fold the knife closed and retract the blade when not in use for safe storage.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment (gloves and eye protection) when cutting tougher materials. Replace blades as soon as cutting performance declines to maintain safety and precision. Store the folding cutter in a dry place and avoid exposing it to corrosive substances to prolong the life of the SK4 blade and the ABS body.
