Description

The AXAGON ADE-ARC adapter converts a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port into a Gigabit Ethernet (RJ-45) connection, providing a wired network interface with up to 1000 Mbit/s. The compact, USB-powered adapter is compatible with current Windows, macOS, Linux, Chrome OS and many Android devices (verify Android support with the device manufacturer) and is suitable for desktops, laptops and ultrabooks. The adapter uses the Realtek RTL8153 chipset and includes a fixed 15 cm USB-C cable.

Advantages

The adapter delivers stable gigabit throughput and supports automatic installation on Windows 8.1 and later. It reduces CPU load with IPv4/IPv6 checksum offload and supports features such as TCP large send offload, VLAN tagging, IEEE 802.3az energy-saving mode, jumbo frames and Auto MDI/MDIX crossover detection. Wake-on-LAN in multiple modes and a range of advanced power management options are also supported.

How to use

Connect the ADE-ARC adapter to a computer, laptop, tablet or compatible phone using the USB-C connector. Plug an Ethernet cable into the RJ-45 port and connect it to your network or router. On Windows 8.1 and later, drivers are typically installed automatically without an Internet connection; for other systems follow the OS prompts or the included multilingual manual if manual driver installation is required.

Usage recommendations

For optimal performance use Cat5e or better Ethernet cable for gigabit speeds. Verify that your Android device supports USB Ethernet OTG before use. To conserve power enable supported energy-saving features in the host operating system and disconnect the Ethernet cable when not required.
