Description

Axagon ADE-TXCA is a compact wired Gigabit Ethernet adapter that converts a USB-C or USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 (USB 3.0) port into a 10/100/1000 Mbit/s RJ-45 network connection. The adapter includes a fixed 15 cm USB-C cable with a USB-C to USB-A reduction, allowing connection to computers, tablets, phones and other devices with either USB-C or USB-A ports. Its metal (aluminum) housing provides mechanical protection and effective heat dissipation while keeping dimensions and weight low for easy portability.

Advantages

The adapter supports gigabit throughput and a wide set of network features to reduce CPU load and improve compatibility: IPv4/IPv6 checksum offload, TCP large send offload, Auto MDI/MDIX crossover detection and correction, IEEE 802.1Q VLAN tagging, IEEE 802.1P priority, Jumbo Frame and Energy Efficient Ethernet (IEEE 802.3az). It is bus-powered (no external power supply required), offers Plug and Play and Hot Plug support, and provides two LEDs for connection and activity indication. The ASIX AX88179A chipset ensures broad OS support including Windows, macOS, iPadOS/iOS, Linux, Chrome OS, Android (device-dependent) and Nintendo Switch system software.

How to use

Connect the adapter to a host device using the built-in USB-C plug or attach the supplied USB-C to USB-A reduction and plug into a USB-A port. The adapter supports automatic driver installation on Windows 8.1 and newer; on other supported systems it will use CDC-ECM/CDC-NCM or provided drivers as needed. After connection, the RJ-45 port can be plugged into a network cable to establish a wired Ethernet link. Two LEDs indicate power/connection status and network activity.

Usage recommendations

For reliable gigabit performance use a quality Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cable and a compatible USB 3.0/3.2 host port. Check Android device manufacturer documentation for wired Ethernet support before use. When using power-saving or Wake-on-LAN features, confirm OS settings and driver support to ensure the desired sleep/wake behavior.
