The AXAGON ADR-305 is a 5 m active USB extension cable that extends USB connections beyond the standard passive cable limit while maintaining data transfer rates up to 5 Gbps using the USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface. It features a USB Type A male connector for connection to a computer and a USB Type A female connector for the remote device. The compact active module includes shielding for stable communication and supports backward compatibility with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1.

Advantages

The active repeater strengthens the USB signal to allow significantly longer cable runs than passive cables, and multiple ADR-305 units can be connected in sequence to further extend range. How to use

Connect the USB A male end to the host computer and plug the USB A female end into the remote USB device. If the connected device draws more current than the USB bus can supply, connect the included USB-A to Micro USB power cable to a suitable 5 V USB-A charger to provide additional power to the active module. Multiple ADR-305 units can be chained sequentially to extend the USB route; verify power requirements when using several repeaters in a row.

Usage recommendations

For most peripherals the cable will work without external power, but for power-hungry devices or long chains of repeaters use the supplied power cable and a USB-A 5 V / ≥1 A adapter. When powering the repeater with an adapter, external 2.5" drives can be used without their own power supply. Ensure connected devices and host OS are compatible; drivers are provided by supported operating systems and install automatically.
