video server Axis 02036-002
AXIS M7116 (video server Axis 02036-002) is a rack-mounted, cost-effective 16-channel video encoder that integrates analog camera systems into IP surveillance. The device supports standard resolution analog cameras with up to 720 x 576 pixels at 30 fps, offers PTZ control over RS-485, and includes memory card compatibility for MicroSD, MicroSDHC and MicroSDXC for edge storage. It supports H.264 and H.265 compression and Zipstream to reduce bandwidth and storage requirements while maintaining image quality. The unit is white, weighs 2.05 kg, and includes security features such as signed firmware, secure boot and support for network security standards including IEEE 802.1x and EAP-TLS.
The Axis 02036-002 combines 16 analog channels in a single rack-mountable encoder, reducing the need for separate encoders for each camera. Support for H.264/H.265 and Zipstream lowers bandwidth and storage usage. On-board MicroSD card support enables edge recording, and built-in analytics like motion detection and tamper alarm provide basic intelligent monitoring. Hardware security features such as signed firmware and secure boot, together with network authentication support, improve system integrity.
Install the encoder in a standard equipment rack and connect each analog camera to the corresponding input. Connect the encoder to the network via the RJ-45 Ethernet port and configure IP settings. Insert a compatible MicroSD card for local recording if required. Configure camera channels, set compression (H.264/H.265) and enable Zipstream to reduce bandwidth and storage. If PTZ control is needed, connect the RS-485 wiring and configure PTZ parameters for the supported cameras. Enable authentication and security features such as IEEE 802.1x and secure boot during system setup.
For reliable performance, use high-quality MicroSD cards rated for continuous video recording, keep firmware updated to maintain signed firmware and secure boot protections, and calibrate motion detection settings per camera to reduce false alarms.
