Network Video Recorder AXIS S1132 Black – 48 video inputs, 8 HDD bays, up to 32 TB, RAID 0/1/5/6/10, 1 Gbps LAN
AXIS S1132 Black is a rack-mounted network video recorder designed for centralized recording in medium to large surveillance systems. It supports up to 48 video input channels with recording resolutions up to 1920×1080 (1080p) and 720p. The unit accepts up to eight hard drives, with a maximum aggregate storage capacity stated as up to 32 TB for the rack model, and provides flexible RAID options (0, 1, 5, 6, 10) plus JBOD for configurable redundancy and performance. AXIS S1132 features 1 Gbps Ethernet connectivity and accepts AC 100–240 V input. It is certified to relevant EN and FCC standards for professional installations.
The recorder offers a combination of high channel density and configurable storage options, allowing centralized management of many network cameras. RAID support and multiple drive bays provide options for redundancy and performance tuning, while 1 Gbps LAN ensures sufficient network throughput for multiple HD streams. The unit’s rack-mounted design and standardized certifications make it suitable for server-room deployments and professional surveillance installations.
Install the AXIS S1132 in a standard 19-inch rack and connect network cameras to the same network via 1 Gbps switches. Populate the drive bays with compatible enterprise SATA drives up to the supported aggregate capacity, and configure the desired RAID level through the recorder’s management interface to match redundancy and performance requirements. Use the preloaded AXIS Camera Station software or integrate with your existing Axis management system to add camera licences, configure recording schedules, and manage storage retention policies. Connect the unit to power (AC 100–240 V) and follow the included setup wizard to complete initial system verification.
For reliable long-term operation, use enterprise-grade hard drives rated for surveillance workloads and configure RAID according to the balance you need between redundancy and usable storage. Place the rack-mounted recorder in a temperature-controlled server room with proper ventilation and redundant network paths where possible. Regularly verify system backups and use the built-in recovery tools and SSD-stored operating system to minimize downtime during maintenance or failures.
