The AXIS Bird Control Spike is an accessory designed for outdoor camera housings such as the Housing Axis 5801-121. It reduces the tendency for birds to perch on camera housings, mounts or domes by creating an uncomfortable but non-harmful surface. The product is flexible, weather-resistant and intended to lower cleaning and maintenance needs while helping to avoid vibration from birds landing on surveillance equipment.

Advantages

The spikes are made from a flexible material that deters birds without injuring them. Pre-assembled UV-resistant adhesive tape secures the spike to flat surfaces, and cable ties can be used as a complement for round or awkward shapes. How to use

Clean the mounting surface and ensure it is dry before installation. Peel the protective layer from the pre-assembled adhesive tape and press the spike module firmly onto a flat section of the camera housing or mount. For circular or irregular shapes, secure the module additionally with cable ties. Click multiple modules together sideways or end-to-end as needed to cover longer areas. Allow adhesive to set according to ambient temperature and manufacturer guidance before exposing to heavy weather.

Usage recommendations

Install the spikes so they do not interfere with camera views or moving parts. Regularly inspect the adhesion and cable ties during routine camera maintenance and replace modules if they become damaged or lose adhesion.
