Hole saw BAHCO 3830-48-VIP single 48 mm for drill, metal/plastic/wood
BAHCO 3830-48-VIP is a single-piece hole saw with a 48 mm cutting diameter designed for use with standard drills. Constructed with Bi-Metal Sandflex® technology, this hole saw is intended to cut a range of materials including metal, stainless steel, steel, plastic and wood. Supplied as a single unit in a box, it is suitable for creating round openings for pipes, cables, fixtures and for general installation or maintenance tasks where a reliable circular cut is required.
The Bi-Metal Sandflex® construction offers high durability and wear resistance, extending tool life when cutting harder materials. The single-piece design provides stability during drilling and helps maintain concentricity for accurate cuts. The 48 mm cutting diameter is a common size for many plumbing and electrical installations, and the hole saw’s geometry is optimized to reduce vibration and improve cutting speed across different materials.
Mount the hole saw on a compatible arbor or drill chuck following the drill and arbor manufacturer’s instructions. Secure the workpiece and mark the center point for the desired opening. Use a pilot drill or center punch if needed to prevent wandering. Start drilling at low speed to establish the cut, then increase speed as appropriate for the material being cut. Apply steady, even pressure and allow the tool to cut without forcing. For metal and stainless steel, use cutting fluid or lubricant to reduce heat and extend tool life. After cutting, clear debris and deburr the edge if required.
For best results, match drill speed and feed rate to the material: lower speeds for stainless steel and harder metals, higher speeds for wood and plastics. Use appropriate personal protective equipment, clamp the workpiece securely, and ensure the drill and arbor are rated for the hole saw size. Regularly inspect the cutting edge for wear and replace the hole saw when cutting performance decreases.
