Bahco 3853-34-1.1-4/6 hacksaw blade is a precision metal-cutting blade designed for use in hand hacksaws and compatible frames. With a blade width of approximately 1.07 mm and high-speed steel (HSS) teeth, it is engineered for cutting structural steel, tubes and profiles while delivering consistent performance and durability. The blade’s PF tooth geometry and improved HSS tooth edge reduce vibration, tooth stripping and blade breakage, providing reliable results for straight and mitre cuts.
The combination of HSS tooth material and a specially shaped PF tooth profile ensures long tool life and high cutting performance. An improved high-speed steel cutting edge balances hardness and toughness to resist wear and chipping. The double set and available wide set options reduce pinching and increase resistance to tooth stripping, resulting in fewer broken blades. The blade is particularly well suited to mitre (angle) cutting and maintains cutting accuracy across a range of steel thicknesses.
Fit the Bahco hacksaw blade into a compatible hacksaw frame, ensuring correct blade orientation with the teeth pointing forward or backward depending on the frame design and user preference. Tension the blade securely so it is straight and free of twists; proper tension reduces vibration and the risk of blade breakage. Position the workpiece firmly in a vise or clamping device before cutting. Start with light, controlled strokes to establish a kerf, then use steady, even pressure for the full stroke, allowing the blade to do the cutting without forcing it.
For best results, match the tooth pitch to the material thickness: use coarser pitch for thin-walled or bundled work and finer pitch for thicker solid sections. Keep the blade properly tensioned and replace blades that show signs of excessive wear, chipping or missing teeth. Use appropriate personal protective equipment and secure the workpiece to ensure accurate and safe cutting.
