File Bahco FM10
The BAHCO File FM10 is a compact flat file designed for versatile material removal and finishing on laminate, plastic, steel and wood. With a working width of 24.5 mm and a height of 5 mm, the file delivers controlled stock removal while remaining lightweight at 270 g for reduced hand fatigue. The flat profile and medium-cut surface make it suitable for shaping edges, deburring cuts and achieving smooth surfaces on a range of workshop and DIY tasks.
The flat geometry provides a stable contact area for uniform material removal. Its medium-cut teeth balance cutting speed and surface finish, allowing both shaping and refining operations. The compact dimensions and low weight make the tool easy to maneuver in confined spaces and for prolonged use. Hardened and tempered steel construction ensures wear resistance and consistent performance over time.
Secure the workpiece before filing to prevent movement. Hold the file with a comfortable grip, apply even pressure and push the file along the surface in long, consistent strokes, using the full length of the file where possible to maintain an even finish. For harder materials, use lighter passes and inspect progress frequently to avoid overcutting. Clean the file teeth regularly with a brush or file card to preserve cutting performance.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and gloves. Match the file cut and stroke pressure to the material: lighter pressure and fewer strokes for plastic and laminate, firmer controlled strokes for wood and steel. Store the file in a dry place and protect the teeth from contact with other tools to maintain sharpness and accuracy.
