BambuLab PLA Wood 1.75 mm filament 1 kg — Black Walnut is a wood-filled PLA designed for FDM 3D printers that accept 1.75 mm filament. The material combines the ease of printing associated with PLA and a fine wood-like look and texture that suits decorative items and functional prototypes. The Black Walnut tone provides a deep, natural finish that enhances surface detail and can reduce the appearance of standard layer lines compared to plain PLA.
This wood-filled PLA offers good dimensional stability and prints with typical PLA processing temperatures and speeds. It produces a tactile, wood-like surface texture and a darker walnut coloration that highlights contours and details. The filament is formulated to be compatible with direct-drive and Bowden extruders on most consumer FDM printers and is supplied on a 1 kg spool for extended print jobs.
Load the 1.75 mm spool into the printer following the manufacturer’s filament handling guidelines. Print settings typically align with standard PLA: use a nozzle temperature in the lower to middle PLA range and a heated bed if required by your printer for improved adhesion. Because the filament contains wood particles, use a nozzle with sufficient diameter (recommended 0.4 mm or larger) to reduce the risk of clogging, and keep print speeds moderate to preserve surface texture. Post-processing such as light sanding or staining can further enhance the wood-like appearance.
Store the filament in a dry environment or sealed container with desiccant to prevent moisture absorption. For best results, test and adjust extrusion multiplier and retraction settings on a small sample print before committing to large parts. When sanding or cutting, wear appropriate dust protection due to fine wood particles.
