Analog synthesizer Behringer WASP DELUXE — 32-voice polyphony, 2 oscillators
Behringer WASP DELUXE is an analog synthesizer with 32-voice polyphony and two oscillators, built for both studio and live environments. The instrument combines a classic analog signal path with modern playability, enabling the creation of dense polyphonic pads, expressive leads and focused bass sounds. Its hands-on layout supports immediate sound shaping and quick adjustments during performance or production sessions.
The synth offers extensive polyphony that allows complex chords and layered textures without voice-stealing, while two oscillators provide rich timbral possibilities and detuning options. Its analog architecture ensures warm and dynamic sound character, suitable for a range of musical styles. The front-panel controls are arranged for intuitive access to key synthesis parameters, making real-time performance control straightforward.
Start by selecting a preset or initializing a basic patch, then set oscillator waveforms and relative tuning to form the core tone. Adjust filter cutoff and resonance to shape the harmonic content, and use envelope controls to define attack, decay, sustain and release for amplitude and filter. Apply modulation sources such as LFOs to introduce movement, and balance the mix of oscillators to achieve the desired thickness. Use the hands-on controls during performance to tweak parameters in real time.
For dense pad sounds, use both oscillators with slight detuning and a low-pass filter with a slow attack on the amp and filter envelopes. For leads and basses, increase filter resonance moderately and use shorter envelope attack times. When performing live, save commonly used patches and map essential controls to easily reachable front-panel knobs to allow fast sound changes.
