Feeler Gauge Beta Tools 1708/20 is a metric thickness gauge set with 20 individual blades covering nominal thicknesses from 0.05 mm to 1.00 mm. The set is intended for precise measurement of gaps, clearances and tolerances in mechanical assemblies, engines and industrial equipment. Each blade is stamped with its thickness and pivoted on a retaining screw, allowing single-blade use or combination of blades to achieve intermediate values.
The set provides a wide metric range with fine resolution for accurate measurement of small clearances. Blades are manufactured from hardened steel to resist wear and maintain flatness, ensuring repeatable readings. The compact folding design and retaining screw keep blades organized and protected for transport and storage. Marked thickness values on each blade simplify selection and reduce measurement error.
Select the blade corresponding to the nominal gap or combine blades to reach the desired thickness. Fold out the selected blade and insert it between the two surfaces to be measured, sliding it gently to feel the fit; a light drag indicates an appropriate clearance, while free movement or tightness indicates a mismatch. For compound thicknesses, stack blades together and align their ends before inserting. After use, fold blades back into the handle and tighten the retaining screw if applicable to prevent slippage.
Keep blades clean and free of burrs; wipe with a rust-inhibiting cloth after use and store the set in a dry place. Do not use excessively to force blades into undersized gaps to avoid blade deformation. Periodically check blade flatness and marking legibility; replace blades that show wear or corrosion to maintain measurement accuracy.
