Cylindrical Punch 3 mm Beta Tools BE31-3 — hardened steel, straight shaft
Cylindrical Punch 3 mm Beta Tools BE31-3 — hardened steel, straight shaft
Cylindrical Punch 3 mm Beta Tools BE31-3 — hardened steel, straight shaft is a precision hand tool engineered for controlled driving out of pins, rivets and for locating components during assembly or disassembly. The tool features a straight cylindrical shaft with a chamfered tip designed to concentrate impact force and resist deformation, making it appropriate for repetitive striking in workshop, automotive and maintenance settings.
The hardened steel construction provides high wear resistance and long service life under repeated impacts. The straight cylindrical shaft ensures consistent alignment between strike and workpiece, reducing slip and off-angle blows. The chamfered tip offers precise contact with pins and rivets while minimising damage to surrounding material. The compact 3 mm diameter is suitable for small-diameter pins and precise alignment tasks.
Position the chamfered tip against the head of the pin, rivet or locating feature to be driven or aligned. Hold the punch perpendicular to the workpiece to maintain correct alignment and strike the blunt end with a suitable hammer or mallet. Apply controlled, incremental blows until the pin is fully driven out or the component is aligned. Inspect the tip periodically for wear and replace the punch if the tip becomes mushroomed or deformed.
Use eye protection and appropriate hand protection when striking. Select a hammer weight appropriate to the task to avoid excessive force; use light controlled blows for small pins. Avoid using the punch on hardened fasteners or as a pry bar. Store in a dry place to prevent corrosion and check the tool before each use for deformation.
