Kapton adhesive tape BLOW 6279# 50 mm × 33 m heat-resistant polyimide tape
Kapton adhesive tape BLOW 6279# 50 mm × 33 m is a heat-resistant polyimide tape designed for demanding industrial and electronic applications. The tape combines a thin, dimensionally stable polyimide film with a silicone-based adhesive that maintains adhesion at elevated temperatures and remains electrically insulating. Its chemical stability provides resistance to solvents and aging, while its low outgassing and good conformability make it suitable for precision masking and protection tasks.
The tape offers high thermal stability and reliable electrical insulation over a wide temperature range. It adheres well to metals, ceramics and many polymers while resisting thermal cycling and most common solvents. Its thin polyimide carrier provides excellent conformability to irregular surfaces and low shrinkage during exposure to heat, enabling accurate masking and protection in processes such as wave soldering or powder coating.
Clean and dry the surface before application to ensure optimal adhesion. Cut the required length and apply the tape smoothly, pressing firmly to remove air pockets and ensure full contact with the substrate. For curved or irregular surfaces, conform the tape gradually to avoid wrinkles. After the thermal process is complete, remove the tape carefully once the assembly has cooled sufficiently to avoid adhesive transfer or residue.
For best results in PCB masking and high-temperature protection, test adhesion on a small area and verify compatibility with solvents or fluxes used in your process. Avoid prolonged exposure to environments above the recommended temperature range for polyimide films, and store the tape in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to maintain adhesive performance.
