Hex L‑key (inch) Bondhus 5/16" — length 152 mm, ball end
Bondhus 5/16" Hex L‑key, 152 mm length, with a ball end designed for driving 5/16" inch fasteners in situations where angled access or extended reach is required. The tool is solid forged for strength and durability and features a ball end that permits engagement of fasteners at offset angles, making it practical for maintenance, assembly and repair work in mechanical and industrial contexts as well as home DIY projects.
The solid forged construction provides high torsional strength and long service life while the L‑shaped design gives leverage for tightening and loosening. The ball end enables access to fasteners at angles up to approximately 25–30 degrees from straight, improving reach in confined or obstructed assemblies. With a 152 mm length the key balances reach and control for tasks that require maneuvering in deeper recesses without sacrificing grip.
Insert the hex end into the socket of the 5/16" fastener and use the short arm for direct driving or the long arm for increased leverage. For angled access, engage the ball end with the fastener and operate the tool within the recommended offset angle to avoid excessive side loading. Apply steady, controlled torque and avoid sudden impacts; the forged construction is durable but not intended for use with impact tools. After use, wipe clean and store in a tool organizer to prevent corrosion and maintain tip geometry.
Use the ball end for situations where straight insertion is not possible, and switch to the straight hex end when maximum torque is required. Avoid prying or using the key as a lever beyond its intended mechanical limits to preserve tip condition and tool safety.
