Hex Key (Imperial) Bondhus 5/16" long 96 mm — ball-end hex wrench
Bondhus 5/16" long hex key, 96 mm, is an imperial L-shaped tool with a ball-end designed to engage 5/16" hex fasteners. The longer leg provides extended reach for recessed or hard-to-access bolts while the short arm allows stable torque application. Built by Bondhus from hardened steel, this hex wrench is intended for workshop, maintenance and assembly tasks where a reliable, compact hex driver is required.
The ball-end tip permits up to approximately 25° of angular entry for easier engagement in confined spaces and speeds up insertion when alignment is imperfect. The 96 mm long leg increases access depth without sacrificing leverage from the shorter arm. Materials and heat treatment provide wear resistance and maintain hex profile accuracy over repeated use. The L-shape offers both torque control and hand clearance for varied working positions.
Select the 5/16" hex key and insert the ball-end straight into the hex recess when possible; the ball-end allows limited angled entry when necessary. Use the short arm for higher torque applications and the long arm for reach or when a lower torque is sufficient. Apply steady pressure while turning to avoid rounding the fastener profile, and reverse direction to back the fastener out. Inspect the key and fastener for wear before and after use.
Use appropriate hand protection in oily or slippery conditions and keep the hex key clean of debris to preserve tip accuracy. For high-torque or precision-critical fasteners, use the short arm to minimize slippage and check that the ball-end engages fully; replace the tool if the hex edges show rounding or significant wear.
