Digital Panel BASIC with Dallas Reader, Book on Demand Ltd. 1062/105D (Urmet-compatible)

The Digital Panel BASIC with Dallas Reader by Book on Demand Ltd. 1062/105D (Urmet-compatible) is a compact door entry panel with an integrated DALLAS (iButton) reader for simple user identification. It is designed to work with Urmet-compatible access systems and intercom setups, providing a straightforward method for granting entry via keyfobs or iButtons. The unit targets residential and small commercial environments where basic electronic access control is required.

Advantages

This panel combines durable mechanical construction with an embedded DALLAS reader to enable non-contact, rapid authentication. Its compatibility with Urmet-style systems allows integration into existing intercom installations without complex reconfiguration. The device’s compact form factor and straightforward functionality make installation and daily operation simple for installers and end users.

Suitable for

• Residential apartment building entry systems
• Small offices and commercial premises requiring simple access control
• Retrofit projects where Urmet-compatible panels are already in use
• Sites that prefer keyfob or iButton based authentication

When it may not be suitable

This panel is intended for basic access control and does not provide advanced features such as biometric identification, touchscreen interfaces, or integrated video cameras. It may not meet needs where multi-factor authentication, large user databases managed on-site, or complex access scheduling are required.

Key specifications

• Integrated DALLAS (iButton) reader for keyfob/iButton authentication
• Urmet-compatible electrical and signaling interface for intercom systems
• Compact panel designed for surface or flush mounting in standard entry setups
• Durable front plate suitable for outdoor installation in residential and light commercial locations
• Simple user identification method suitable for small to medium-sized user lists

How to use

Mount the panel following the mechanical and wiring guidelines of the existing Urmet-compatible intercom system. Connect power and the intercom signaling lines according to the system schematic. Enroll user keyfobs or iButtons into the access control system using the controller or programming procedure compatible with Urmet protocol. To grant entry, present an enrolled keyfob or iButton to the DALLAS reader; the system will verify the credential and trigger the door release if authorized.

What to consider before purchase

• Confirm compatibility with your existing Urmet-compatible intercom or access control controller
• Verify mounting type (surface or flush) and available space at the intended installation point
• Ensure the chosen access management system supports DALLAS/iButton credential enrollment and administration
• Assess environmental exposure at the installation site to confirm the panel’s front plate material and durability are suitable

Usage recommendations

For reliable operation, install the panel in a sheltered location or ensure appropriate sealing at the mounting point. Maintain a clear list of enrolled iButtons and perform periodic tests of credential reading and door release. When expanding the system, plan controller capacity to accommodate the expected number of users and backup power where continuous access is critical.
